No axes beyond 3, even in the personal version. GrabCAD files into Fusion, so no using prefabs or importing someone else's model to use as a template. Or if you have a great CAD or art program you're familiar with and know well that has no CAM, you can't make up for that lack with Fusion.Īs a side effect, you can't translate files between formats and more or import e.g. So if you have another CAM program that does 5 axis but absolutely sucks in drawing/modeling, you can't do that part in the free Fusion 360. Importing/exporting files in IGES or STEP won't be allowed to avoid anyone using Fusion 360 to "augment" the operation of another program. They're crippling the non pay licenses so no one can use them for anything Autodesk wants to charge for:

If your referenced designs in the assembly are inactive, you can still open your assemblies, but the references will be read only. You will still be able to edit the referenced designs as long as they are also active.

Assemblies can reference active and inactive documents. If you have an assembly with referenced designs in it, the assembly and each reference (if opened) will count as 1 document each. Therefore unless that changes the new restrictions, once in force, seem to make it impossible to restore anything from an archived project that contains 11 or more documents.Įdit: The blog post was updated with FAQ items and this quote relates to the specific problem I sketched above There is AFAICT no option there to list the documents inside an archived project, nor to restore only a single document from an archived project. There is much to discuss about these changes, and how they fit (or not) with the stated principle of "democratizing design for everyone".īut to just hone in on one practical problem: In the current web interface for moving projects to/from archived status the view for archives only lists project folder names. One super restrictive change is going from unlimited active projects/documents to "10 active and editable documents, unlimited archived documents". This fresh blog post describes the strong limitations that will soon be put on "Fusion 360 for Personal Use".
