Need to add one more task? Just nest a loop! We get the result we need. We get in the habit of treating loops as our go-to tool for everything. “I suppose it is tempting, if the only tool you have is a hammer, to treat everything as if it were a nail” However, this familiarity can freeze us in our comfort zone, leading to rigid thinking and holding us back from exploring more creative solutions that may be more efficient, easier, or simply necessary to solve unusual or complex problems. There’s a reason why gut instincts for problem-solving follow a few set routines, usually centered around iterative loops.
Which is great! Learning efficient templates allows us to solve many of the problems we encounter more quickly and effectively. As web developers, we often use many of the same design patterns to solve problems over and over.
This challenge is one of my favorite illustrations of the value of using the right tools to solve a problem.
